Packing Lead Operatorresponsibility entails maximizing effectiveness of the filling and packaging operation on a daily basis. Supervision of packaging line and inspection operations of areas is imperative. Lead will maintain an efficient flow on the line at expected rate while maintaining quality product, report any problems to the shift supervisor, and oversee policies and work instructions are being followed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise inspection areas and insure inspection is completed according to packaging batch record.
  • Supervise a team of 5-20 operators/inspectors.
  • Set up inspection areas.
  • Segregate and maintain accountability of rejects.
  • Complete all required paperwork/documentation.
  • Oversee serialization process.
  • Maintain working knowledge of serialization.
  • Perform other required duties as negotiated.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Supervise packaging lines and insure product is packaged in an efficient manner.
  • Check in and provide an accurate accountability of product components.
  • Change rolls of labels.
  • Relieve operators as required.
  • Call technicians to work on machines, however, maintain a basic knowledge of equipment operation for minor trouble shooting.
  • Collect all required samples.
  • Ensure all required duties are completed at the end of the production run.
  • Ensure a quality product is being produced.
  • Insure product is protected when special storage conditions apply.
  • Reconcile batch components within standards outlined in packaging batch record.
  • Assist in operator training.
  • Follow established S.O.P.’s/Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Uphold standards of safety as established by the organization.
  • Promote teamwork, communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain an environment of professionalism.
  • Maintain an environment of respect.
  • Provide oversight to employee behavior and performance issues.
  • Drive quality performance of work area/line.
  • Be a leader.


Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; minimum of three months related experience and/or training; college degree preferred.
