POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Substance Abuse Coordinator provides substance abuse assessments, intervention, prevention and counseling to residents at Kaplan House. Additionally, the coordinator will refer, monitor and coordinate any and all substance abuse services that are provided in and outside of the program for current and former residents.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing substance abuse screening for all residents; Orientating new residents about drug education, prevention and treatment services; Facilitating groups for residents around substance abuse issues
  • Clinical/case management for residents deemed high risk; Collaborating with and educating staff on substance abuse issues as they relate clinically to residents behavior, functioning and risk
  • Documenting individual and group work in all of the manual, and electronic health records (State system, Connections, My Avatar, Alltrac, critical incident reports etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • A Master's degree with the ability to be licensed is required for this role
  • CASAC or CASAC eligible with equivalent experience in the field of substance abuse prevention and treatment a plus
  • Experience working with adolescents and young adults with substance abuse issues
