Summary:

This position involves the handling of livestock hogs with responsibilities ranging from driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning. The Livestock Handler 4 must maintain accurate inventories, head counts, and perform light building maintenance and showcase duties when not directly working with the livestock. The role requires the safe and stress-free movement of hogs, adhering to humane handling guidelines as per policy. Additionally, the Livestock Handler 4 should be ready to undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor. All Tyson Team Members are expected to prioritize safety, encompassing personal and food safety.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of prior experience in livestock handling during loading and unloading operations is required. Familiarity with skid loaders and forklift operation is preferred. Six (6) months of plant experience is also preferred, with basic experience in livestock handling within the meat industry's procurement area. Prior knowledge and experience with humane animal handling procedures, processes, and general policies in procurement are desirable.

Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge is preferred.

Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and government officials at all levels.

Special Skills: Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 70 pounds or more unassisted and stand for extended periods of 8 to 10 hours, excluding breaks.
