The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of minimally-invasive gastrointestinal surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery or eligible for such certification.
Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of fellows, residents and medical students rotating on the GI Surgery service.
Clinical responsibilities may include in- and out-patient clinical care of general and gastrointestinal surgery patients - especially within the foregut and bariatric realms.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include basic science or clinical studies in the field of gastrointestinal surgery. Evidence of scholarship is required in the Clinician-Educator track.
These positions will be housed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Preference will be given to candidates possessing fellowship training in minimally-invasive surgery.
