Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

Responsible for providing high quality services to clients and developing new business through up-selling of existing clients, new lead generations, referrals and establishing relationships with potential clients. Works as a liaison between various departments; including sales, IT, operations, and clients.

Essential Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides quality customer service by efficiently providing resolution to client requests for information.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient reports and triages as appropriate for correction.
  • Assists Laboratory staff to verify clinical and patient information needed to process results.
  • Assists in maintenance of relationships with clients by making general customer service calls to determine level of customer satisfaction. May visit customer premises to resolve customer problems.
  • Develops relationships with potential customers, or leads, to cultivate new business.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from inquiries, trade shows, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Makes outbound lead follow up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Coordinates customer training.
  • May attend conferences, trade shows and sales meetings.
  • Coordinates customer needs with the IT Department as required to ensure customer service. Assist clients in troubleshooting issues with Connect Dx products.
  • Serves as "back-up" support to specimen processing, data entry, billing department and reception as necessary.
  • Keeps company integrity by maintaining security and confidentiality of all data, procedures and data system components.
  • Ensures accuracy of quality in production by completing incident reports, researching and resolving problem cases (research missing specimens, empty vials, lost specimens, etc.) increasing client satisfaction.
  • Interviews customers to obtain information, identify problems, and provide technical assistance. Keeps management informed of client needs and problem areas that may impact service levels.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database and assists in generating reports and data that identify client activity.
  • Assists in managing sales priorities and special projects as needed.
  • Completes annual training programs within the required timeframe and regularly attends staff meetings
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality
  • Complies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules, polices, and procedural manuals
  • Adherence to HIPAA, Safety and OSHA Regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Finance, or Related Field

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in sales or services of physician offices

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Equipment:

  • General office equipment including but not limited to personal computers, fax machines, copiers, and printers.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, physicians, vendors and clients.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and priorities to achieve personal, departmental and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral, and written instruction.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, clients and employees.
  • Operates motor vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Office Setting, with some minimal time in a Laboratory Setting; minor risk of exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards.
  • Travel Required

  • Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus.
