As an Accountant, you are part of a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at DTM. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. A team player at heart, you collaborate with our team throughout the US, advocate best practices and pitch in where needed. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives.

You will partner with operations with efforts that balances the needs of our gas producers and help increase pipeline capacity sales.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, implement and manage processes for the accounting of gas transportation and storage revenue, including contra-revenue accruals, deferred revenue and the related balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end close processes, including agreement review, apply cash payments to customer accounts and preparing/posting journal entries, assist with 10Q/10K reporting including revenue disclosure requirements. Prepare and present financials to management and support with any ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate or manage accounting activities. Work with providers to send out established or mature processes and manage ongoing activities.
  • Partner with internal teams and engineering and business partners to define, establish and implement accounting systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for DTM.
  • Work through accounting implications and confirm we can operationally support business agreements. Provide accounting guidance to Sales, and other cross-functional teams.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with a focus on revenue recognition.
  • Excellent business acumen, with the ability to work amidst ambiguity. Ability to understand and present data.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work with minimal guidance and in a team environment.
  • CPA Certification or a master's degree in a related field.
