Activity Booth Attendant- $14.00/hour


Flamingo Adventures, located within The Everglades National Park, is now hiring Activity Booth Attendants for our newly opened Lodge and Restaurant!

We operate 2 large campgrounds, Eco Tents, and a full-service Marina.

We have RV sites with full hookups for $25 (per person) per week and dorm style housing for $50 per week. Sorry, space is very limited. You must work here and be available for full-time hours to live on property.

We have both seasonal and year round options available.

Pay: $14.00/hour.

Popular onsite activities include kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking, bike riding, and camping. We are also located within a reasonable driving distance from the Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami beaches and nightlife!

JOB SUMMARY

The Activity Booth Attendant is responsible for selling boat tour tickets, assisting with the rental of kayaks, canoes, and bicycles, and receiving money from and disbursing money to customers while maintaining a high level of customer service at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Identify items and corresponding cost of items and accurately using cash register, calculator, or other price equipment.
  
• Issue receipts, refunds, credit to customers accurately.
  
• Maintain register and contents within.
  
• Turn in cash drawer and sales reconciliation at shifts' end.
  
• Smile and greet customers entering unit; answer customers' questions, and provide information on company products, promotions, and policies. Thank each customer.
• Maintain clean and orderly cash station area; stock and maintain sales area with various supplies and products.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness of the retail operation.
• Assist with launching/bringing in kayaks and canoes as needed.
• Assist dock hands.
• Maintain awareness of safety issues, and report them immediately to your manager.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

• Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
• Excellent sanitation habits.
• Professional appearance.
• Ability to communicate and attend to guests with the highest standard of service.
• Ability to pass cash handling training.
• Problem sensitivity and the ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 50 lbs.
• Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor/outdoor environments.
• Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
• Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
• Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a sometimes fast paced environment.
• Physical attendance in unit to perform duties.
• Ability to stand for the entire work day.

EQUIPMENT USED

• Knowledge of computer used in unit.
