Overview

AmTrust Financial Services is currently seeking a junior actuarial analyst to help support our loss analytics and reserving department in our New York, NY office.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain models and methodologies supporting core actuarial functions including reserving, forecasting, and reporting
  • Implement various loss analyses, programs and procedures to support the preparation of actuarial reports and assist in the formulation of recommendations regarding Commercial Lines and Specialty Programs reserving forecasts
  • Promote best actuarial practices with respect to automation and documentation
  • Provide guidance and training to junior-level team members
  • Maintain good relationships, rapport, and lines of communication with both internal and external stakeholders


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel, VBA, Access, SQL is a must. R, SAS, and Java programming skills a plus
  • Strong analytical and integrative skills including the ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
  • Strong foundational actuarial principles, including but not limited to pricing, valuation, modeling, and product development
  • Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team Player
