Hourly Range:

$19.50 an hour

Job Summary:

The Advancement Records Specialist 1 is an entry level position with a primary responsibility of maintaining and updating constituent records in the existing development database with data from a variety of sources including online forms, emails, data files and returned mail. Updates include, but are not limited to, contact information, employment information, name changes, marital updates, education updates and event registrations.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and maintain constituent records using information from a myriad of sources to update data such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, employment, education information, solicit codes, educational involvements and other personal information; Also, create and maintain relationships between constituents.
  • Assist with scanning and linking constituent documentation.
  • Assist with new parent process.
  • Assist with data audits.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of one year of work experience in a data entry role is required.

Experience with CRM data entry is preferred. Experience in higher education is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. A strong customer service orientation is essential.

Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, analyze problems and devise solutions. The ability interpret data (historical precedent, supporting documentation, etc.) and determine which course of action would be most appropriate is essential.

Candidate must possess strong time management, organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and complete projects in a timely manner. Must also have the ability to process large quantities of data while maintaining data integrity and a high rate of accuracy. The ability to safeguard confidential information and adhere to database security protocols is required.

Candidate must demonstrate a strong proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with database and imaging software preferred, i.e. Blackbaud (BBEC or Raiser's Edge), Sungard (BSR or Banner), PeopleSoft, or ImageNow.

Candidate must be comfortable being on camera in virtual conference settings (e.g. Zoom etc).

Physical and Environmental Demands:
  • Ability to work at a desk and at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Sit for long periods of time
