Job Description

Overview

Job Description: The Data Analyst collects, processes and performs statistical analyses of data. This position designs, develops, implements, and maintains business solutions including analyses, reports, scorecards, and dashboards. Data Analysts discover how data can be used to answer questions and solve problems. The position also interprets results using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining. The position will provide mentoring and training and support self-service analytics by working directly with clients, project teams, and business leaders to determine and develop analytical requirements.

Required Qualifications/Education/Licensure: Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or associated field. At least three years of data mining experience.At least three years of data analysis experience, or proven working experience as a data analyst, business data analyst, or data engineer, OR Master's and above level degree in analytics, data science, statistics, etc. may be equivalent for up to two years of experience. Experience using report writing tools such as, SAS Business Objects, SSRS, Crystal Report. Experience programming with R, Python, or another programing languages. Experience using classes of software such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, SAS software, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Tableau, and/or Google AdWords, or other specific software. Experience using data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, Spotfire. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Advanced data reporting and visualization skills. Analytical problem solver & critical thinker - ability using logic and reasoning to identify patterns to find outcomes and solutions. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets. Exposure Story Telling with data concepts and techniques. Understanding of Relational Database Design and adept at developing queries, report writing, and presenting findings. Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Education/Licensure: Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or associated field. Relative Healthcare industry knowledge. Healthcare Analytical experience (e.g. Healthcare Data Analyst, Clinical Analyst, RN). Cerner Reporting & Analytics or other Major EMR analytics systems. Machine learning techniques. Experienced working with Big Data technologies. Experienced utilizing Statistical methods and packages. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. Experienced in Data warehousing. Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms. Certified Healthcare Data Analyst (CHDA), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP).
