SUMMARY

This position reports to the Safety Systems Manager and is responsible for the day to day management of AJT’s ASAP programs. ASAP programs are an integral part of risk identification and fostering a safety reporting culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, but not limited to:

  • Facilitates Event Review Committee (ERC) meetings. This includes scheduling, holding and closing monthly meetings
  • Serves as the ASAP Submission Analyst and is responsible for the tracking, categorizing, and processing of all ASAP reports and action items
  • Prepares analyses of all ASAP reports and advises the ERC of safety trends for use in corrective action recommendations
  • Ensures coordination with other departments of all investigations and corrective actions on behalf of the ERC
  • Performs continuous analysis of ASAP data to identify trends, safety concerns, and effectiveness of safety risk controls
  • Serves as the primary focal for tracking, analyzing, and communicating ASAP metrics
  • Maintains good working relationships within the company, the FAA, and with union representatives
  • Provides inputs/updates to ASAP program requirements and procedures based on FAA guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:



EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:


  • Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
  • Prefer a FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate or FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Prefer accredited training in Aviation safety (SMS, Investigations, Human Factors)



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge, training, or experience in one group covered by ASAP: Pilot or Mechanic or extensive ASAP experience
  • Subject matter expertise on the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) as detailed in FAA Advisory Circular 120-66, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and other FAA guidance
  • Knowledge of safety reporting in general and Safety Management System (SMS)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Tableau
  • 2 years Part 121 airline operations or equivalent military experience

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:

  • Ability to confidently lead meetings which include members from the FAA, union(s), and company managers or directors
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening)
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
