A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) is seeking applications for non-exempt adjunct faculty on the Mesa, Arizona campus. Adjunct Faculty will report to the Program Director, Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
Job Duties:

  • Provide support to full-time faculty in various teaching aspects of the program.
  • Participate in on campus lab courses, including Clinical Skills.
  • Provide instruction on a variety of clinical skills covered throughout the didactic year, including but not limited to point of care ultrasound, digital blocks, suturing, intubation, IV insertion, venipuncture, lumbar puncture, joint injection and incision and drainage.
  • Collaborate with the course director on simulated medical encounters.
  • Assist with other lab courses and department admissions as needed. On campus labs are currently held on Mondays (July-September) and Tuesdays (July-June). Please anticipate being available to participate in the lab 2-3 days per month.
  • Provide academic instruction, counseling, and mentoring to PA students.
  • Evaluate student performance in various classroom modalities based on participation, performance in class, assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
  • Report student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyze student data.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on course curriculum.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards when applicable.
  • Planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments as assigned.
  • Assist in the program development including curricular implementation and the admissions process.
  • Staying updated on innovations and changes within the course and/or Physician Assistant field.
  • Active involvement in developing and carrying out the mission and vision of the department, college, and university.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements:

Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent) required. Current and valid National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) certification required. Two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.

Masters or better in Physician Assistant or related field.
