Position Summary

Assembler - 2nd ShiftHours: Monday - Friday 3:30pm-12:00amRequirements: Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 40lbs. Positive work history required. HSD/GED is required.Description:

• For the complete range of pumps made by the company, assemble and instruct in the assembly of various types of horizontal or vertical centrifugal pumps both single & multi-stage with occasional supervision.
• Work involves planning assembly of parts and sub-assemblies, care and accuracy fitting.
• Fitting adjustments made for free running of moving parts; other parts and sub-assemblies, must be brought into alignment.
• Location and order of assembly are standard.
• May also be assigned to work development and experimental pumps; dismantle and make repairs with parts from stock; mount pumps, motor supports and motors on bases and bedplates as required.
• Use hand and power driven tools in fitting operations.
• Perform other miscellaneous work as required.

Essential Responsibilities

Tasks:

• Read and work to complex drawings and diagrams to understand pump assembly requirements.
• Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools.
• Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
• Inspect, test, and adjust tolerances, and customer order requirements.
• Connect cables, and tubes according to specifications.
• Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and Vernier's.
• May be required to operate industrial trucks (fork trucks, lift trucks, etc.)
• May train new employees.
• Follow relevant work instructions and/or SOP.

• Uses the appropriate electronic or manual system to perform the work of the job or department.
• May use computer systems to enroll in benefits and interact with other company data systems.

• Manual Dexterity- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Control Precision- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
• Reaction Time- The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture), or to an error, when it appears.
• Ability to perceive and interpret information through the senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch at a level considered normal for a healthy adult. Must exhibit good balance.
• Ability to climb.
• Maximum lifting requirement is 40 lbs.; any material of greater weight must be moved using machinery.
• Ability to stand and move while assembling pumps.
