Alfa Laval is looking for an ASSEMBLER who will be using established processes, operating procedures, and Engineering drawings, this position assembles parts, components, and equipment to levels meeting the quality standards as established by Alfa Laval and demanded by our customers within the required timeframe as dictated by the master schedule. This team member will be self-motivated, driven, and technically inclined to assemble products with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

In this role, you can expect to:

• Assist team members in the assembly of mechanical components into the finished assembly or sub-assembly to defined Engineering tolerances and Engineering drawings within defined quality levels and expected time to achieve due dates.

• Wire standard and non-standard electrical assemblies to within defined quality levels and expected time to achieve due dates.

• Pipe standard and non-standard hydraulic assemblies to within defined quality levels and expected time to achieve due dates.

• Test completed assemblies to defined Engineering procedures, corrects any discrepancies so the product quality and function is secured.

• Perform repetitive assembly tasks independently

• Provide feedback to Team Leader or ALPS status board for safety, product improvement, ease of operation to reduce time, and cost savings.

• Promote the 5S culture of Alfa Laval through maintenance of tools, organizing a clean work area, and striving to increase safety and productivity
• Receive and follows work instructions provided by team leader.

Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:

• High school graduate or equivalent (G.E.D.)

Type and Length of Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in the assembly of mechanical equipment or similar field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:

• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to work from basic Engineering drawings
• Ability to work with pneumatic and hand tools: saws, drills, grinders, hydraulic pump, etc
• Ability to measure accuracy
• Understanding of basic electrical/wiring
• Understanding of basic hydraulic terminology
• Punctuality, Reliability, Self-motivated, Attention to detail
• Works well in team environment

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

• Lifting up to 50 lbs
• Climbing ladders when needed
• Standing most of the time
• Squatting at times
• Non-climate-controlled environment
• Position involves teardown of used wastewater treatment equipment
• Personal Protection Equipment required, provided by Alfa Laval (steel toed boots, safety glasses, and occasionally ear protection)
