ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
DIVISION OF PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT STUDIES
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE


West Virginia University located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track (12-month) Assistant/Associate Professor for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies in the Department of Human Performance in the School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be a principal faculty member, and have primary responsibilities which include teaching courses within the physician assistant studies curriculum in areas of expertise and participating in the ongoing review and modification of the curriculum, as indicated. The successful candidate will also serve as an academic advisor to students in the program and participate in the admissions process through screening, interviewing, and rating of applicants.

The program is administratively housed within the School of Medicine’s Professional Programs unit, which is home to over 2,100 students enrolled in degree programs including exercise physiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, athletic training, medical laboratory sciences, immunology, communication sciences and disorders, pathologists’ assistant and health information management. The physician assistant program reports to the vice-dean for professional programs in the School of Medicine.

Qualifications

The Assistant Professor must meet the following criteria for consideration:
• Hold a master's degree as a Physician Assistant Studies
- Must be eligible for WV licensure
- Must hold current NCCPA certification
• Two years of experience in physician assistant education, at least some of which is didactic in nature; experience may include serving as a preceptor to students in the clinical setting

All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

First consideration will be given to applications received by June 15, 2022.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The appointment date is negotiable, but the goal is to have the position filled no later than August 1, 2022. Salary and academic rank will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
