The Douglas County Court in Omaha, NE is currently accepting applications for a full time Assistant Clerk Senior for our Probate Division. This is a highly responsible supervisory, clerical and administrative position assisting the Judges, Judicial Administrator, and Division Manager with the supervision, organization, and general oversight within the Probate Division of Douglas County Court. Douglas County is the largest court in the state of Nebraska handling over 90,000 cases a year and this position plays a critical and intricate role in the operations of the court.

Examples of Work
(A position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned.) Work involves a variety of duties including assigning, training and supervising the work of others within a division of the county court with data entry and processing case filings. This division handles over 60,000 cases a year and is an extremely fast paced environment.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school or its equivalent. Two years of demonstrated growth and/or advancement in complexity for duties and/or positions in court administration, legal office/setting or equivalent administrations in business or non-profit.

PREFERRED: Supervisory experience. Prior experience in guardianships, conservatorships, adoptions, and estates is preferred.

OTHER: To successfully complete the original provisional period and become a permanent employee, all employees in this position must complete JUSTICE training within six months from the date of hire and demonstrate proficiency in knowledge and use of the court computer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in the use of JUSTICE and DOCKET. Experience and familiarity in the court, to include judicial processes and operations of court, especially in a larger court setting. Proven experience in learning and working with non-Windows or non-Microsoft type programs and data entry. Experience and successful communication skills and interaction with varying degrees of management staff. The ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required.
