In the Denver metro area, we have 4 locations providing opportunity for local collaboration and teamwork between accounting and finance professionals. The larger finance and accounting team includes dealership accounting, central accounting and corporate accounting with the ability to grow and move into any of these areas. The Assistant Controller position is a great opportunity to get in the door and start your accounting and finance career with Holman!

What will you do?

  • Manage general accounting office and immediate supervision of two office employees.
  • Perform timely balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Calculate compensation and ensure timely payment.
  • Ensure that accurate payroll information is submitted to centralized payroll on a timely basis.
  • Perform month, and year end close and report to corporate office on a timely basis
  • Work closely with the departments to prepare monthly budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Work closely with all departments in both accounting, compliance and operational capacity.
  • Oversee vehicle paperwork compliance and sales tax
  • Perform income and expense analysis on deviations.
  • Assist in both internal and external audits.
  • Ensure that a strong internal control environment is consistently maintained.
  • Work closely with Centralized Accounting ensuring accuracy of the financial data.

What are we looking for?
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, energetic, problem solver looking to grow within the organization.
  • Must be a resourceful self-starter with a hands on approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Comfortable with MS Office applications especially Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems and operate in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Compensation $70,000 to $85,000 per year.
