Detailed Description:In the Catholic Higher Education tradition, the Division of Student Affairs creates an educational environment that motivates and inspires student learning and personal development in alignment with the university's student success model and co-curricular learning outcomes, serves the University community, and challenges students to make a positive contribution to society.
In support of students' financial capability, the Assistant Director of Military and Veteran Services and Compliance is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and University of San Diego (USD) regulations and policies pertaining to military students and their dependents. This person serves as the primary liaison for the Veterans Administration and other external organizations that aid militaryconnected students. In addition, this position will be charged with maintaining all external databases associated with veteran organizations. Working closely with the Director of Military and Veterans' Program, this position, provides exceptional service both internal and external to the university by developing relationships with all members of the USD military family. The Assistant Director is responsible for being the primary full-time presence in the office, when the Director's duties require them to be off campus representing the university and recruiting future students. This position will also troubleshoot issues on behalf of students pertaining to military benefits, financial aid, student accounts,and other offices across the university. Periodically, this position may be asked to lead or contribute to either ad hoc or ongoing division/campus projects outside the scope of their day-to-day activities.
