  • Provide advice and counsel on a variety of legal matters arising out of NPD's business, including IP and privacy issues.
  • Develop and implement learning materials, policies and best practices.
  • Support M&A transactions, investments and strategic alliances, including due diligence.

Your Qualifications
  • 5+ years of broad commercial-focused legal experience.
  • In-house background preferred, especially with a privately-held company.
  • IP licensing-related experience a strong plus.
  • Experience in the market research or information industries, or in business services and/or professional services, a plus.
  • J.D. and New York Bar admission in good standing.

What We Look For
  • A team player who is pragmatic, business-minded and solution-oriented, who inspires confidence and trust.
  • An eager, flexible learner who is confident in handling matters.
  • A self-starter with an analytical mindset who works without extensive supervision, prioritizes effectively under deadline pressure, is able to quickly focus in on the aspects that matter the most to the business, and who demonstrates:
    • Integrity and sound judgment
    • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills (capable of assessing both legal and business risks)
    • Exceptional interpersonal, written and communication skills with an emphasis on being practical, clear and concise
    • Strong attention to detail
  • A candidate who is organized but flexible, proactive but also responsive.

The NPD Group, Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
