Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

  • This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 x per year.
About the role:
  • GM is developing an all-new Digital Retailing Platform (DRP) that unifies the customer experience across brand and retail touchpoints. The platform has been developed with Tekion, a leader in automotive retail technology and will be rolled out with new Electric Vehicles.
  • Built on the principles of speed, simplicity, and transparency, the DRP enables a true end-to-end shopping and purchase experience for GM electric vehicles.
  • The DRP project team is seeking an Assistant Product Manager of Operations to help support the business team with shopping tool development, brand and system integrations.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in digital marketing or software product management and recognizes the best customer experiences are built on well crafted and scalable platform capabilities. The role will champion how the DRP integrates critical GM backend and Partner enablers that underpin the front-end customer experience and the DRP Dealer Sales Cloud.
  • This is a highly cross-functional and fast paced role and requires a strong self-starter that enjoys working in the intersection of business requirements, data and technology to drive CX innovation. The successful candidates will develop skills and gain experiences well suited to senior product management and digital marketing roles.
Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Operations Product Manager - Digital Retail Platform, the Assistant Operations Product Manager - Digital Retail Platform will:
  • Lead a cross-functional project team in the development and system integrations of the Digital Retail Platform across multiple brands and channels
  • Partner with the Assistant Product Manager DRP to develop and execute the DRP-powered digital retailing features and integration with the DRP Dealer Sales Cloud
  • Support the Operations Product Manager with developing and activating DRP features and functionality as defined by the Product Manager's roadmap- working collaboratively across various GM teams and SMEs
  • Act as liaison between GM business teams, Agency partner, and GMIT to progress design and development work on time, and in alignment with key team members
  • Partner closely with DEV-IT and technology partner to gather and capture requirements, define back-end solutions and oversee through UAT and implementation
  • Effectively manage and supervise product development through ongoing meeting management and utilization of project management tool
  • Gather and prioritize requirements across customer-facing, dealer-facing and back-end integrations aspects of the DRP solution, maintaining clear communication and tight alignment between business and technical partners (GM and Partners)
  • Help facilitate an impactful project team culture by consistently displaying the GM Behaviors and fostering an accountable, results-oriented and one-team approach
  • Identify program risks to leadership and facilitate issue resolution in close collaboration with business and technical partners
  • Support direct team meetings and huddles, prepare and present presentations, lead partner communications (internal, external) and prepare leadership briefings
  • Represent program interests in various organizational forums and negotiate outcomes and trade-offs while meeting program timing

Background/Experiences
  • Academic (BA required, MBA or Equivalent preferred)

  • Digital marketing and eCommerce
  • Customer experience
  • Product management
  • Supplier management (agency, software)
  • Dealer channel / Retail Support (preferred)
Other:
