Astellas is announcing an Associate Director, Data & Adv Analytics Business Integration opportunity.

Purpose & Scope of Position:

This role will drive data and analytics business integration and project portfolio optimization for AIA/Reveal VALUE, including tracking and reporting of the project status/progress to senior leadership. Further, this role will support project visibility and enhanced project execution of strategic initiatives for AIA. The position is a catalyst in leading and establishing standards for data and advanced analytics capabilities across AIA and within the business. This role will be critical to the further evolution of the AIA and Reveal VALUE model by developing models for co-creating department-level analytics.

In addition, this role with establish standardized processes, project and program support, tools and appropriate cost controls to support enterprise and select non-enterprise initiatives. The role will ensure appropriate resource allocation / integration, achievement of operational and financial objectives, and develop and provide strategic recommendations to drive achievement of key business goals for AIA / Reveal VALUE with the broader Astellas organization as needed. In addition, the position will provide and manage external project management resources as needed to support execution of initiatives for AIA.

Essential Job Responsibilities:


* Establish models for co-creating department-level analytics strategic direction of the team and ensure its alignment with corporate long-term goals, business needs and overall department objectives; Supervise team to tactically implement the short-, mid- and long-term strategic direction developed in agreement with key business leads.
* Partner with key business leaders to develop strategic performance and effectiveness metrics, dashboard and performance reports, related to advanced analytics.
* Develop strategic insights and actionable recommendations; Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, key stakeholders and co-promote partners, if applicable, to proactively identify opportunities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues across divisions to develop strategy and analytics infrastructure to support evolving customer model.
* Work with key business leads in AIA and across functions to assess and drive action from the co-developed strategies
* Manage projects/relationships with vendors ensuring requirements, goals, timelines, and budgets are met.

Quantitative Dimensions:


* Communicate with functional heads and stakeholders across global functions to facilitate meetings and ensure timely execution of analytic activities
* Report and track key product performance metrics



Organizational Context:


* Reports to Sr. Director, Business Integration


* Supports AIA/REVEAL Leadership and project teams
* Collaborates with project leads across AIA as well as key organizational partners of the AIA Organization


* Partners closely with departmental Communications Function as well as Corporate Communications to highlight capabilities and results of AIA Initiatives





Required Qualifications:


* Strong proven skills in analytics, data science, AI and ML
* Strong leadership and communication skills; able to consult with and guide internal and external business partners; skills must be applied to all levels of the organization.
* Catalyst for organizational change, conveying a sense of urgency while being flexible and responsive to changing business priorities.
* Minimum 8 years' experience, primarily in the pharmaceutical/health care industry.
* Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:




* Master's degree in one of the following areas: data, analytics, data science, mathematics or computer science
* Multidisciplinary project management experience within pharmaceutical industry.
* In-depth knowledge of global drug development and product lifecycle management processes
* Working knowledge of key interfacing organizations (finance, development, marketing).
