Our Restoration & Renewal practice provide owners and managers with a home for solutions to a wide range of structural, envelope and building systems needs for existing properties of every use, age and construction type. Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations and alterations and oversee their execution in the field.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer at the Associate level in our Restoration & Renewal Practice in the New York Metro area. We are looking for a candidate with experience in structural investigation and design relating to existing building renovations/expansions, adaptive reuse and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Completing structural analysis and rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
  • Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other consultants including Architects and other Engineering disciplines, Cost Consultants, and Contractors.
  • Projects will be in structural renovations, repair, and expansions of existing structures buildings.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and coordinate project workflow and deliverables.
  • Manage and mentor other design team members and supervise the work of engineering and drafting persons.
  • Direct project staff in preparing Contract Documents, including structural drawings and specifications


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil Engineering (discipline specific: structural engineering).
  • Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Experience evaluating and designing alternations/repairs for existing buildings/structures.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) License required; License in NY preferred.
  • Ability to manage and monitor project financials include fee proposals, billing and profitability is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to commute to job sites throughout NY Metropolitan area.
