We are currently seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Immunoassay Bioanalysis Laboratory at our Germantown, MD location on a full-time basis. As an Associate Bioanalytical Scientist, you will be part of our team engaged in immunoassay testing for clinical and preclinical PK, PD and ADA testing of biopharmaceutical and biologic targets. These will be carried out in accordance with company SOPs, methods, policies, and full compliance with appropriate regulations (GLP, GCP etc). In addition to laboratory testing this position also requires the individual to assist with laboratory and equipment maintenance and support processes in the lab.

Essential Functions:

  • Assistance with operation and routine maintenance of general laboratory equipment and with lab cleaning and maintenance.
  • Handling and processing of biological samples according to procedures as needed.
  • Highly competent pipetting technique.
  • Assistance in Immunoassay method development, validation, sample analysis and all associated duties.
  • Perform serological (e.g. ELISA, ECL), and cell-based Ligand binding assays (e.g. Flow Cytometry) and associated techniques.
  • Nucleic acid extraction and PCR assays may be included.
  • Prepare/review forms and SOPs as needed.
  • Assist in data processing, QC checking and data compilation.
  • Full compliance with the Laboratory Safety Policy.
  • Full compliance with GLP/GCP and all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in related field
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
  • Experience in ligand binding assays
  • Experience with Molecular biology techniques is highly desirable
  • Experience working with LIMS (Watson) is advantageous
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
