The Department of UHealth Facilities Operations & Planning has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Associate Vice President of Construction Project Delivery to lead our construction initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of project life cycles, robust stakeholder engagement, and the achievement of key results. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction project management, with an

emphasis on stakeholder collaboration and a results-driven approach.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and expectations.
  • Address stakeholder concerns promptly and implement effective solutions to enhance project success and stakeholder satisfaction.

Project Life Cycle Integration:
  • Oversee the entire project life cycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring seamless integration of all project phases.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to establish project goals, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies to optimize project workflows, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement throughout the project life cycle.
Key Results Achievement:
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) to drive accountability within the project team.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and targets, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget and quality standards.
  • Lead regular project reviews and status updates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to achieve key results.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the project management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Develop and implement training programs and professional development initiatives to enhance team capabilities and expertise in construction project management.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence in construction project management.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities in the construction industry, recommending innovative solutions and strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Internal Controls:
  • Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements, and monitors controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery; healthcare and life science construction preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate project life cycles, drive key results, and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software, tools, and technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
