Georgia-Pacific has immediate openings for a motivated, resourceful, critical thinkers for our Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) role at our Naheola Mill located in Pennington, AL. This individual will add value by providing troubleshooting, minor maintenance to the varying criticalities of equipment. This position is covered under a Union Labor Agreement. These positions work 12-hour rotating shifts, 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am and the starting pay rate is $25.75 per hour.

Our Team

Naheola Mill located in Pennington, Alabama, is a manufacturing site for the company's well-known consumer products business, producing a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie® paper cups and plates. The mill is the largest employer in the community with more than 900 employees and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development and education.

What You Will Do

  • Respond to and reset AGV and LGV alarms as needed,
  • Assist in the changing of LGV batteries,
  • Perform OBC routes on AGV's and LGV's barges weekly
  • Monitor overall load and unload conveyors and correct issues
  • Correct warehouse inventory discrepancies
  • Identify any potential issues that need to be directed to Performance coach or Manufacturing Engineer
  • Responsible for calling and/or sending e-mails to E-80 help desk to gain resolution to issue, 24/7
  • Enter PGR's
  • Work with E-80's onsite engineer to identify needs to be entered in to PTM work requests system for needed parts or repairs and send to Performance coach or Manufacturing Engineer
  • Work with IT and ABT to keep AGV systems running in the Distribution center and in Building 44.
  • Perform loading, offloading, housekeeping, and other duties as directed by Performance coaches.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work as a team player
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and perform tasks with a sense of urgency

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience troubleshooting minor low voltage electrical issues
  • Experience with maintenance and/or operation of Automated Guided Vehicles
  • Experience with warehouse management systems
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Associate degree or higher in relevant field

This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this role is set at $25.75 per hour.
