The Lincoln Regional Center, a Joint Commission accredited hospital for adult patients with mental illness, is looking for personable and self - motivated professionals to join our team as a Behavioral Health Practitioner II. Provisionally licensed applicants will be considered and will be hired as Behavioral Health Practitioner I with a starting pay rate of $18.778/hour until fully licensed. Location of position: Lincoln Regional Center, Men's Acute

Work schedule: Sunday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Examples of Work
Licensed Mental Health Practitioners provide individual, didactic and group therapy consistent with the individual patient treatment needs. They provide input into master treatment plan. They assess treatment needs of individual patients, incorporating information obtained through assessments, patient history, and direct observation. They collaborate with the treatment team in planning and evaluating effectiveness of patient treatment, and enhance and adjust the treatment approach and content based on individual and population needs. Shares clinical observations with the treatment team. Therapist compiles patient individual and group progress notes, documenting according to LRC Standards and DHHS/LRC policies and procedures. Therapists participate in team and clinical meetings to address program concerns and needs. Attends and participates in program planning committees, in-service training and monthly LMHP department meetings. These interventions assist the facility in demonstrating compliance to JACHO standards of active treatment. This position also assists with doing campus wide Drug and Alcohol assessments.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or possesses another license that allows the incumbent to provide the above mental health services as required by Statute 71-1314. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development, Psychology, Family Relations, Vocational Rehabilitation, Art Therapy, Divinity, Human Resources, Naturopathy, Mental Health or other field approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner AND 3000 hours of post-degree supervised counseling experience. Will consider Provisional Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP). Provisionally licensed will be hired as Mental Health Practitioner I until fully licensed. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development, Psychology, Family Relations, Vocational Rehabilitation, Art Therapy, Divinity, Human Resources, Naturopathy, Mental Health or other field related to and approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. Must possess a provisional license for mental health practice.

PREFERRED: Experience leading group therapy and developing group curriculum. Knowledge and experience working with serious and persistent mental illness and personality disorder diagnoses. License Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) to work with substance abuse issues preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: DSM, patterns and processes of normal growth and development; mental and emotional disorders; behavior management and modification; applied behavior analysis; psycho educational training; individual and group therapy techniques; system theories and bio-psychosocial intervention theories; social and cultural factors as related to mental health; program specific treatment issues; applicable agency policies and organizations; program specific philosophies, policies, and procedures.

Ability to: demonstrate the application of therapy methods and techniques; communicate in person, as a group facilitator, and in written formats with persons served, other staff, and other agencies; monitor patient progress and recommend new strategies; prepare written reports; document findings and treatment; conceptualize, integrate and express interdisciplinary input; explain the significance of behavior patterns and signs to patients and other team members.
