The Business Development Sales Manager for NPD's Consumer Technology practice is dedicated in generating revenue from new sales to new clients. This position offers a career filled with innovation and growth to the forward-thinking sales hunter. We are in search of a proven, quota-carrying sales performer who is hungry to find and build creative ways to engage and support a prospect's needs with actual point of sale data, consumer and digital insights. These growing accounts are in need of our support to build their marketing, sales and retail distribution strategy. We are in need of a true hunter who can shine in the driver-seat and support the momentum for uncovering new growth. This unique individual will work closely with the Executive Director, Analytics, Market Intelligence, Product Management, Corporate Marketing and cross-functional groups to achieve revenue objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve/exceed annual sales and territory revenue quotas.
  • Prospect, build, prioritize, and close an opportunity pipeline for new business with a primary focus on identifying new revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans, with a consultative sales approach, that requires c-level selling along with creating solutions based on a thorough understanding the prospect's organization, goals, objectives and business opportunities and issues.
  • Present NPD's capabilities and solutions in a clear and confident manner
  • Discover new ways to align and build partnerships with tech start-ups and develop relationships with growing technology companies.
  • Work with NPD's Marketing and Sales Advocate teams to build, organize and create ongoing marketing campaigns
  • Attend trade shows and industry meetings to develop new relationships and prospects.
  • Develop strategic prospecting plan for 2022's Consumer Electronic Show (CES) and all related industry networking events.


Qualifications:
  • Proven sales experience, with an established track record in hunting and closing new business and achieving monthly sales goals.
  • Client industry experience in technology required.
  • Experience selling in an information-oriented business and/or Market Research.
  • Proven ability to analyze customer needs and goals to generate thoughtful proposals that exceed customer expectations and expand revenue opportunities.
  • Strong networking, prospecting, and executive selling skills
  • Ability to successfully manage many complex prospective clients and projects simultaneously.
  • 3 years of experience selling information-based solutions in technology required
  • Well versed in leveraging a consultative solution-sales process.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including the art of persuasion and creativity.
  • Strong presentation and follow-up skills including organizational and project management
  • Ability to work independently as well as engage in new opportunities with a thoughtful and collaborative approach
  • Expert in all MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 50%
  • BA/BS degree

The ideal candidate must be able to conduct engaging and impactful presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD's products and services or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

Relationships
The ideal candidate must be comfortable and effective when talking with a broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the prospective customer's organization.

Discipline
The ideal candidate will be competent in managing their time and activities and must embrace our proven opportunity and customer management processes and systems. In addition, the Candidate must apply NPDs proven sales process and be able to effectively qualify prospects and manage a pipeline. Candidates must possess a "can-do" perspective in their professional attitude.
