Social Media & Event Specialist for Dog Daycare & Boarding Facility

About The Opportunity

The Social Media & Event Specialist, or Marketing Scout, reports to the Corporate Camp Operations & Marketing Specialist and works alongside the local Camp Managers to represent Camp Bow Wow's brand both in Camp and throughout the community. This role is customer service-based and requires the ability to maintain customer relations, limit retention, and communicate effectively to ensure the best customer experience.

How You Will Make a Difference

Primary Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Promote Camp Bow Wow to increase sales and customer visits, while limiting customer retention and producing effective results
  • Manage local marketing efforts and social media platforms
  • Manage customer feedback platforms. Work alongside management to establish cause, formulate responses, and creating a suitable action plan toward finding a solution.
  • Research advertising opportunities to positively promote Camp
  • Attend local marketing events; Coordinate and host Camp Bow Wow events on or off-site
  • Establish partnerships with local businesses and maintain relationships
  • Manage marketing vendors, costs and budget
  • Create marketing materials through company platforms
  • Communicate promotions effectively to Camp employees
  • Work alongside Camp Manager toward set goals
  • Some Front Desk/reception shifts
  • Assist with Camp's day-to-day operations, as needed, including time spent in the play yards

Primary Camp Responsibilities:

  • Communicate promotions and upcoming events effectively to Camp employees.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings.
  • Work alongside Camp Managers toward set goals and meet sales objectives.
  • Frequently interact with Interview customers to educate about Camp, sell First Day Packages and answer any questions.
  • Communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment for Campers.
  • Provide excellent customer service when assisting Front Desk.
  • Be attentive to customers' needs, engage in conversation and interact with Campers.
  • Address minor customer concerns.
  • Provide the best customer service experience to Campers and customers.
  • Various Camp Counselor Task Support:
    • Front desk shifts
    • Care for dogs of all breeds and sizes.
    • Monitor dogs in play areas, maintain a clean environment and manage dog behavior
    • Engage in one-on-one Enrichment services with the Campers. Play fetch, run sniff & seek activities, and snuggle sessions!
    • Clean and maintain kennel, play and common areas.
    • Feed dogs and administer medications.
    • Perform bathing and grooming services including baths, nail trimmings, ear cleanings, etc.

A Strong Candidate Will Have

  • MUST LOVE DOGS - the noise, the hair, the messes, the love, and the smiles!
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3+ years customer service experience
  • 1-2+ years social media experience
  • Marketing and/or event experience preferred, but not required
  • Animal experience preferred
  • Time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Weekend and flexible availability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Basic software skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain ongoing customer relationships
  • Energetic and upbeat personality
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation - local travel required
  • Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or carry 40+ lbs.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 40+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach overhead
  • Ability to reach at or below shoulder level
  • Ability to control and withstand resistance from dogs of all sizes on leash
  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to squat and kneel
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate verbally

Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits

  • Compensation Range: $16.56 - $17.06 hourly based on experience + monthly commission
  • Job Type: Full-Time (40-45 hours per week)
