REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FORACADEMIC AFFAIRS

SUPERVISES: Faculty on the Moore County campus and staff reporting directly tothe Campus Dean position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in academic area represented at MSCC.
Three years academic administrative experience.
The equivalent of two years of post-secondary full-time teaching experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

General Function:

The Campus Academic Dean will provide leadership for all academicprograms offered at the Moore County campus of Motlow State Community College.The Dean will have responsibility for management and support of all academicprograms not under the responsibility of the Dean of Nursing and Allied Healthor the Dean of Career and Technical Programs on the Moore County campus. TheAcademic Dean will report to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

In collaboration with other Campus AcademicDeans, the Dean of Allied Health, the Dean of Career and Technical Programs,and in consultation with the appropriate Curriculum Chairs, the Dean will:

Joint Responsibilities:

Design and implement strategies for measurable improvements in the performance of students in all academic programs offered on the Moore County campus and on the Quality Assurance and Performance Funding metrics established by TBR.

Design and implement annual and long-range planning for appropriate academic departments to meet the goals of the MSCC strategic plan and TBR initiatives.

Develop and manage budget for appropriate academic programs.

Ensure compliance with state-mandated performance measures and utilize data for program improvement. Complete reporting and activities associated with programmatic accreditations for programs not under the jurisdiction of the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health and the Dean of Career and Technical Programs offered on the Moore County Campus.

Oversee appropriate academic programs including curriculum review, revision, and development; course scheduling; identification of resources; and course/program evaluation.

Conduct research on a new academic programs and support approval and implementation process.

Respond to the needs of local industry by developing partnerships with the industry leaders in the Moore County service area for academic programs on Moore County campus including meetings at least once a year.

Implement the use of emerging and mobile technologies for classroom instruction.

Assist in the recruitment of students for all academic programs.

Maintain and enforce college and department policies and procedures.

Recruit the employment of both full-time and part-time faculty and ensure that credentials comply with licensing and accreditation requirements.

Supervise and provide performance evaluations for faculty on the Moore County campus. The Dean also supervises staff reporting directly to the Campus Dean position.

Represent MSCC at regional, state, and national meetings to maintain professional growth.

Serve on college committees and the academic leadership group.

Serve as campus contact for formal student complaints and grade appeals.

Plan and organize adjunct orientation, training, and recruitment activities on the Moore County campus.

Other responsibilities assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs.
