The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a 10- bed unit for our patients with serious heart conditions for which medical care and intervention are needed. Our patient population includes patients with life threatening arrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial infarctions, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, post cardiac arrest situations, intra-aortic balloon pumps, left ventricular assists devices, angioplasty with stent, ablation therapy, and Impella heart pumps. The healthcare providers in this unit have advanced training in cardiac and intensive care. Our Cardiac Intensive Care Nurses work with cutting edge technology, a nationally renowned physician team, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the medical center. We embrace a passion for a dynamic and intense environment that requires critical thinking and leadership. Nurses possess excellent analytical and assessment skills, strong background knowledge on hemodynamics, arrhythmia management, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Nurses and Patient Care Technicians in our unit, see themselves as part of this highly skilled and welcoming team that provides top quality care to our patients.
