The Lincoln Regional Center, a Joint Commission accredited hospital for adult patients with mental illness, is looking for personable and self - motivated professionals to join our team as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. Provisionally licensed applicants will be considered and will be hired at the starting pay rate of $18.778/hour until fully licensed. Examples of Work
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors provide individual, didactic and group therapy consistent with the individual patient treatment needs. They provide input into master treatment plan. They assess treatment needs of individual patients, incorporating information obtained through assessments, patient history, and direct observation. They collaborate with the treatment team in planning and evaluating effectiveness of patient treatment, and enhance and adjust the treatment approach and content based on individual and population needs. Shares clinical observations with the treatment team. Therapist compiles patient individual and group progress notes, documenting according to LRC Standards and DHHS/LRC policies and procedures. Therapists participate in team and clinical meetings to address program concerns and needs. Participates in performance improvement. Attends and participates in program planning committees, in-service training and monthly LMHP department meetings. These interventions assist the facility in demonstrating compliance to JACHO standards of active treatment. This position may also assists with doing campus wide Drug and Alcohol assessments.
Qualifications / Requirements
Required: Nebraska License as Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Licensure requirements pursuant to Nebraska State Statutes 38-2122 and 38-316.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to: demonstrate the application of therapy methods and techniques; communicate in person, by telephone, as a group facilitator, and in written formats with persons served, other staff, families, and other agencies; monitor patient progress and recommend new strategies; prepare written reports; document findings and treatment; conceptualize, integrate and express interdisciplinary input; explain the significance of behavior patterns and signs to patients and other team members. Needs to be familiar with the 12 core functions of substance abuse and ASAM recommendations and treatment levels.
