Summary:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital will oversee and optimize day-to-day operations to ensure the highest quality patient care, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability. You will collaborate with the administrative team to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the healthcare system's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

Provide strategic direction and leadership for assigned hospital operations, including clinical services, administrative functions, facilities management, and support services. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to enhance patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.Collaborate with the CEO and administrative team to develop and execute strategic plans that support the hospital's mission, vision, and long-term growth objectives. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, department heads, employees, patients, and community leaders, to promote collaboration and alignment of interests. Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, and demographic shifts to identify opportunities for service expansion, partnerships, and market differentiation. Represent the hospital in external forums, industry conferences, and professional associations to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.Champion a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management throughout the organization. Collaborate with clinical leaders to implement evidence-based practices and clinical protocols that enhance patient outcomes and minimize adverse events. Oversee accreditation and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to standards set forth by relevant governing bodies (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS). Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience, satisfaction, and loyalty by addressing patient feedback and implementing service excellence initiatives.Collaborate with the CFO to develop and manage the hospital's annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial targets. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize resource allocation and maximize revenue generation.
