Bloomberg 10 South is a 20 bed acute care pediatric medical/surgical unit that cares for a multitude of different patient populations including asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, restrictive eating disorder and seizures. Surgical patients are a variety of different services including: Orthopedics, ENT, General Pediatric Surgery, Genitourinary Surgery, Neurosurgery and Plastic Surgery. The unit is also the Pediatric Burn Unit for the region. Burn victims from infancy through the age of 14 are admitted here. The unit also includes four beds designated as the Pediatric EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit).

Shifts: 12 Hour Night Shifts

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
• 1 year of acute care (hospital) tech experience during the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
