Braun Intertec is seeking a driven, organized, and dynamic Operations Manager to lead the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations. This position will lead the La Porte and Houston, TX CMT teams with 25-30% local and regional travel required.


Major Accountabilities:

  • Planning, budgeting, and operational results
  • Staffing, training, and resource optimization
  • Management of supervisors, and project managers
  • Works with Operations Team to Develop Sustainable Growth Strategy
  • Relationship Building with internal and external customers/clients


Job Duties:
  • Monitors CMT projections, headcount, backlog, and results on a continuous basis, initiating operational changes as needed
  • Continually monitors financial performance of the business unit by analyzing current and future unit activities, costs, efficiency of operations, etc. and provides feedback to management on a regular basis.
  • Accountable to meet Braun Intertec safety requirements
  • Creates and develops a team-centered, growth oriented CMT and project management culture that works collaboratively to obtain planned results
  • Manages CMT Operations Supervisors in developing business acumen and regional growth opportunities
  • Achieves staffing goal s to meet client work needs and internal resource allocations for Houston office
  • Facilitates client service standards training and evaluates results
  • Manages equipment, including planning, maintenance, strong stewardship, and financial performance
  • Assists with the development and implementation of a business development strategy and model that is sustainable and replicable
  • Provide all CMT operations with advice and guidance in quality control, and work within Braun Intertec's CMT A2LA Quality Management System
  • Conducts client and project consultant conferences to resolve concerns/questions to plan and coordinate work and develop scope of services.
  • Effectively utilizes available resources throughout the organization to identify clients and implement marketing strategies.
  • Directs client contracting in the unit and reviews proposals and pricing.
  • Monitors individual employee project management skills specifically as they relate to financial performance of projects and client retention.
  • Works with Operations Supervisors on staff training, supporting issues, and providing learning and coaching
  • Other duties as assigned



Required Skills:
  • Ability to develop and present training materials to CMT staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated effectiveness managing teams with multiple reports
  • Thinking agility and flexibility -- able to make decisions quickly
  • Ability establish relationships with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization and customer organizations
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 30% of the time


Required Experience:
  • Relevant postsecondary education and/or training required
  • Four year college degree preferred
  • Five or more years of relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated effectiveness building and working with teams
