The Laboratory of Dr. Fuwu Zhang at the Department of Chemistry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of polymer chemistry, drug delivery, and nanomedicine. Our research interests lie broadly in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, drug delivery, and nanomedicine, with emphasis on the translation of polymer chemistry to functional nanomaterials designed for advanced disease treatment.

A recent Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences is required. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in organic chemistry and polymer chemistry. Experience with drug delivery, nanoformulation, cell-based assays is desired but not required. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing novel degradable polymers for the delivery of various therapeutic agents toward the treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other diseases. Other duties include, but are not limited to, preparing research reports and technical papers for publishing, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to communicate efficiently in a multidisciplinary team.

*Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques.
*Stays abreast of current literature.
*Designs and synthesize organic compounds and novel polymers of interest.
*Conduct physical and chemical testing of prepared materials.
*Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Minium Qualifications:

Ph.D. Required
