WSFS Bank is currently seeking a Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist. The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist will prepare documentation and support the closing needs of a diverse and complex portfolio of commercial loans. The incumbent will assist with activities relating to commercial loans in connection with assigned transactions. The incumbent will ensure loan approvals comply with internal guidelines and external regulations. The position will obtain and review all due diligence required in connection with each anticipated transaction, which may include but not be limited to appraisals, environmental reports, title, survey, and customer due diligence. The incumbent will work together with customers and other members of the loan team to identify and resolve risks presented by review of such information. This position will prepare appropriate loan documents or manage outside counsel engaged to prepare loan documentation for each transaction relating to assigned transactions, ensuring that all documentation complies with approved terms, regulatory requirements and Bank policies. The incumbent will identify and resolve barriers to closing, which may include but not be limited to necessary insurance coverage, title endorsements, outstanding liens or clouds on title requiring resolution, outstanding taxes, and judgments against parties or property. The incumbent should have knowledge of entity documents to determine authorization and signers, and have the ability to multi-task and work on several transactions at a time with minimal errors and exceptions under limited time constraints.

The schedule is a 40 hour work week M-F 8:00AM - 5:00PM and is located at our Bank Center in Wilmington, DE.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Must have a minimum three years of experience preparing and closing commercial loan transactions.
  • Paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • Must have the proven ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically with internal and external customers.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of commercial lending and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must have experience using LaserPro to prepare commercial loan closing documentation.
  • Must be proficient using a PC and Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described below must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Incumbent will be required to stand for intermittent periods of time.
  • Incumbent may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
  • The incumbent will be required to walk, reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The incumbent will also be required to talk, hear, see, read and write.
  • This position requires regular lifting and moving of 10-25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Incumbent must be able to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine paperwork, use existing form letter and/or conduct routine oral communication, communicate with individuals using a telephone, hear and speak effectively on the telephone, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, communicate orally with others accurately and quickly, at an audible level that others can hear.
  • Incumbent must also have the ability to count accurately and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and record, balance and check results for accuracy.
