The Communications Coordinator for the Howe Center for Writing Excellence (HCWE) will create all communications from the center to students, faculty, staff, and a broader national audience. Media include website, social media, and print. When creating the materials, the Communications Coordinator will adhere to Miami's brand guidelines and convey the mission and goals of the HCWE through all communications.

The Communications Coordinator for the Howe Center for Writing Excellence will update the HCWE website regularly, write news features and profiles, write weekly e-newsletters, create and update brochures and posters, create social media campaigns and keep a regular social media presence. The position will work with a graphic designer to design on-brand materials, including website banners.

Required: BA in English, journalism, or closely related field and two years of relevant work experience, or, in lieu of degree, 5 years of relevant experience. Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to update website; ability to use social media effectively.

Position not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience working within brand guidelines, working in a writing center or writing across the curriculum program (work as a graduate assistant is prorated; 1 semester of an assistantship is equivalent to 2.25 months of full-time experience), experience working with teams, and writing collaboratively.
