Description

The Construction Safety Representative works with our client to ensure the onsite contractors are working in compliance with OSHA regulations and their safety program.

Our client is located in Casa Grande, Arizona and looking for someone to work fully onsite. This role will begin in Mid-May and extend to the end of June with the potential to extend for a longer period.

CONSTRUCTION SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work risks, raise safety awareness and ensure safe work practices at the project site.
  • Observe and provide feedback on onsite contractor's work activities for compliance with OSHA regulations, and Abbott requirements.
  • Conduct periodic client work site safety inspections throughout the day to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Participate in investigation of any accidents, near-miss incidents, good-catches, and occupational injuries to discover causes and suggest preventive measures.
  • Provide technical guidance to Abbott Nutrition employees and onsite contractors on safety initiatives when necessary.
  • Maintain safety files and records as required by OSHA, etc.
  • Participate in all daily job-box safety meetings where times do not overlap.
  • Provide a daily summary of tasks completed and any necessary escalations that occurred that day.
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly project safety meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
CONSTRUCTION SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least five years' work history as a Construction Safety Representative.
  • Academic degree in safety related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, ANSI).
  • Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred.
  • CSP, ASP or GSP certification preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, ADOSH/AZ-OSHA, ANSI,).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
CONSTRUCTION SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Must be detail and service oriented with good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to communicate with others at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups and teams.
CONSTRUCTION SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to traverse worksites in different types of weather.
  • Ability to bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean as they are performing their duties.
  • Understands the exposures and risks characteristic to construction site dangers with a focus on hazards for roof work.
