We have an open Contractor Representative position in the Denver area.

Benjamin Moore & Co is currently looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our sales team. Accountable for driving and maintaining contractor business by establishing trusted relationships directly with end users. Partner with Field Sales and Retailers to support profitable sales growth and market share by offering technical expertise, visiting job sites, conducting site evaluations and specification/proposal writing assistance as needed.

  • CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
    • Manage relationships with contractors within specified territory to maintain and drive sales
    • Build relationships in a consultative & advisory role
    • Partner with field sales to plan and facilitate End User Events, trade shows and contractor breakfasts using sales presentations & product demonstrations
    • Record and track contractor programs and trainings
    • Act as a communications conduit for information regarding BM products, programs, services, and pricing
    • Use technical & application knowledge, problem resolution, negotiating & communication skills to bring complaints/customer concerns to favorable resolution
  • EDUCATION & TRAINING:
    • Create an ongoing training plan for End User Professionals to educate on product & application knowledge
    • Drive utilization of all available education tools and resources
    • Collaborate with Training Implementation Specialist to effectively facilitate individual and group training activities
    • Support End User Application Training and Certification programs
  • SALES AND SPECIFICATION WORK:
    • Support contractors with project evaluation and specification writing
    • Support engagement with Architects, Specifiers and Engineers in order to properly specify products as appropriate
    • Sell in Benjamin Moore & Co. Products to Pro End Users, Facilities, Property Management, etc.
    • In tandem with Customer Segments sell in the Programs, Promotions & Services to support the Benjamin Moore strategy
    • Generate leads, identifying targets, coordinating pricing with retailers and conducting consistent field sales calls with end users
    • Conduct Job Site visits providing guidance and recommendations on product selection, application and technical information including green standards


Required Skills and Desired Knowledge
  • Knowledge of BM products and application best practices
    • Specification writing proficiency
    • NACE Certified (complete or in process)
    • Working knowledge of required software programs (Microsoft Office, CRM)
    • Excellent communication, listening and public speaking skills
    • Effective problem solving, negotiating & complaint handling skills
    • Effective time management skills
    • Self-motivated and sales oriented
    • Excellent relationship management and team interaction skills
    • Training and facilitation skills
    • Overall knowledge of Market geography and competitors
    • 3-5 years industry experience and College degree preferred
    • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record a must
    • Willingness & ability to travel within region & work evenings/weekends
    • Bilingual as appropriate for territory
