The Electrical Coordinator will have extensive BIM Coordinating skills as this person plays an integral role in our construction team. This individual will work closely with the project management team and will be heavily involved in all modeling efforts for 3D coordination and shop drawings. We are seeking someone who can multi-task and work in a fun and very fast paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD MEP programs to create installation shop drawings and sketches from contract drawings.
  • Responsible for layout of electrical systems, cable trays, conduit and equipment in 3D for BIM coordination.
  • Participate in customer, project and design meetings to gather and review project related requirements and resolve conflicts with other trades.
  • Ensure compliance of installation drawings with local and national electric codes.
  • Communicate project status to report target delivery, productivity and quality of drawings.
  • Prepare and manage communications internally, with general contractors and construction managers for assigned projects.
  • Travel to various project sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Comply with all company operating policies, procedures and safety programs as established.
  • Minimum of High School diploma required
  • Minimum of 2+ years of total drafting experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a similar role within the construction industry required
  • Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
  • Detailed understanding of all facets of construction blueprints (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and special systems)
  • 3D coordination with other trades
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient individual able to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for an extended period of time and frequently stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel: and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move office equipment up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include viewing computer monitors. Some duties in this position are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions of a job site including: working outside, at times in inclement weather; and exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration. Most work is performed in an office environment during normal business hours.
