Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities of the Corporate Counsel position include but are not limited to:

  • Negotiate, review, and draft complex commercial contracts.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of a contract lifecycle management platform.
  • Act as a trusted legal advisor as part of the business teams' efforts to establish, evaluate, and expand business relationships.
  • Perform other transactional and legal duties as needed, including supporting Nucor's growth objectives.
  • Provide business teams with day-to-day legal perspective and guidance including inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions.
  • Proactively spot legal issues and identify solutions.
  • Help establish a framework of policies and guidance to manage legal and commercial issues within the business.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and member of the bar of a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 3+ years corporate or transactional/M&A experience working at a law firm or in-house legal department.
