About the Position

We are seeking a Corrosion Technician to join our growing Team team in the Houston, TX market. The ideal candidate will work with a technical pipeline survey crew performing above ground Cathodic Protection Pipeline Surveys.

Job Description:

  • Survey Technicians are expected to travel 80-90% of the year, mostly within the U.S.
  • Performing Close Interval Survey on transmission and distribution pipelines to document effectiveness of Cathodic Protection systems
  • Learn to operate pipe locator device and achieve Veriforce and OQSG OQ certifications
  • Pipeline inspections
  • Work within project scope under the direction of an experienced survey crew lead adhering to safety protocols
  • Survey crews are typically 3-person Teams, teamwork and ability to effectively communicate are essential.
  • Pay is discussed and determined by experience level.
Requirements:
  • Ability and desire to work safely. Pond prides ourselves in creating a safe work environment and will not tolerate unsafe work practices.
  • We are Seeking Experienced or Entry Level Technicians
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • 100% passing of all company and client drug & alcohol testing is MANDATORY. This position requires pre-hire, client site specific, and ongoing random drug testing. Failure results in immediate removal from company.
  • Desire and ability to travel 80-90% of the year.
  • Extreme flexibility pertaining to project scheduling
  • Ability to handle field survey equipment, troubleshooting, good writing and record keeping skills are required.
  • Must be self-motivated & be able to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a safety oriented and high stress outdoor environment is required.
  • Must be able to walk between 3-6 miles daily along the pipeline right of way.
  • Must be able to work 10hr days, 6 days per week.
  • Ability to obtain NACE CP1 Certification within the first 12-18 months of hire.
