Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant will provide financeial and account support and is responsible for to assess business expense and prepare an optimized expense budget. The Cost Accountant will also review financial records, research market rates and propose expense adjustments.
Job Duties:
- Collect and analyze data about the location and company's operational costs
- Monitor unit cost variance
- Reconcile beginning raw materials, WIP and finished goods
- Set standard costs of manufactured goods
- Develop and analyze cost standards
- Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
- Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Perform account reconciliations
- Prepare audit reports and present findings to management
- Recommend changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
