Steampunk is seeking a Cyber Operations Planning Analyst to support our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) clients. Contributions

As a Cyber Operations Planning Analyst you will be responsible for supporting key federal personnel in their operational engagements and mission planning for critical infrastructure cybersecurity. In this role you will work together with the operational team supporting a critical cybersecurity mission, providing a suite of support services requiring attention to detail, excellent people skills, nimble analytic capabilities, and a dose of good humor to carry you in a high operational tempo environment. The ideal candidate for this position is a creative, detail oriented, interpersonal connector who thrives on being a "knower of things" and excels at anticipating the needs of the client and organization for mission success.

Key contributions of this role include:

  • Working with key federal officials to plan for, and provide mission support during, operational cybersecurity and infrastructure security events.
  • Establishing and managing strong relationships with federal officials, interagency partners, private sector and state/local/tribal/territorial entities to support operational needs, as well as improve integration and multidirectional information exchange
  • Coordinating with partners on cyber threat, vulnerability, and/or incident-related information in planning and during major incidents, facilitating information exchange, and responding to requests for information or assistance.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of novel cyber initiative efforts, including preparing courses-of-action, decision-memos, and concepts of operation.
  • Operating as a programmatic gatekeeper: preparing operational pre-briefs, coordinating and facilitating internal and external engagements, taking detailed minutes and notes with an emphasis on mission analysis/mission impact, as well as updating SOPs and CONOPs as appropriate to remain reflective of actual mission operations and priorities.
Qualifications
  • US Citizen
  • Located in the Washington, DC metro area
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS EOD.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, or a master's degree and minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in information operation planning, mission analysis and/or threat analysis.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, national cyber policies, and critical infrastructure security; ability to use this knowledge or expertise to develop, negotiate and staff action plans for cyber operations and response.
  • Experience managing tasks and interfacing regularly with senior government officials.
  • Experience in executive-level decision support, including developing COA's, briefing materials, decision-memos, etc.
  • Self-motivated and focused on delivering outcomes; ability to work both independently and within team setting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
