Background Summary:

GBS operates as a global organization transforming how GM functions including Finance, Controllership, Purchasing, HR, Sales Service and Marketing, and a growing list of new business partners do business. The Data Quality Analyst partners with various cross-functional teams, IT Partners and business stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the operational data landscape to ensure that GM functions speak the same language by creating and maintaining data standards that ultimately enable faster transfer of key data, quicker analytics, and smoother transactional reporting.

Position Overview:

The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for examining quality of large and complex data sets and provide guidance and support to resolve data quality problems and execute quality assurance processes for Identity & Access Management and HR applications in partnership with IT and the business process owners and data stewards. The analyst will execute regular data quality checks, support SOX, Supplier and other Audits and act as the liaison to remediate data errors and documentation of data quality efforts.

Core Job Responsibilities include:

Technical Development:

  • Collaborate with the business, Master Data COE, IT, and other Data Transformation Analysts to determine the data relevant requirements for our operational systems as well as our MDM and data governance tools
  • Support the build out of these system and tools to manage data, including: build export files, perform data validations, create design requirements/documents, develop workflows, craft user stories, and perform UAT testing, etc.

Data Quality:
  • Identify, analyze, assess, fix, document, and communicate potential quality issues in the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used. This will require being the liaison between the Business Functions and IT counterparts to resolve data quality problems using techniques such as root cause analysis as well as collecting user requirements.
  • Fixing the data problems will require the Data Quality Analyst to have the storytelling skills to report data analysis findings to recommend/drive business decisions and prioritize information system needs, design and fix code errors

  • Execute Weekly Identity & Access Management, SOX, Supplier Audits: Activities include: Review quality of data entry, loads, transformations, extractions, merges, or other production jobs. This may also include communication with data suppliers, and/or database developers to improve systems and database designs
  • Measure data quality: Activities include: Data analysis and preparation of reports and dashboards to leadership using Analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau,..etc to communicate trends, patterns and predictive analytics
  • Manage data quality documentation: Activities include: Define and maintain data standards, definitions, and models (e.g. data dictionary, organizational data model, etc.) This may also include any Data Quality Analyst documents such as checklists, guidelines, manuals, templates, forms, etc.
  • Provide data quality services to the organization: Activities include: Participate in cross-functional teams and development task forces on project basis. Assist other groups in database setup, design of edit checks, test plans, Data Quality policy decisions, etc. to ensure data quality objectives are met.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer science , Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, Business, mathematics, or a relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead all phases of system development technology life cycle, including requirements definition, design, development, conversion and testing
  • Technical knowledge of core data management components such as: data modeling, data profiling, source to target mapping lineage, business glossaries, data dictionaries, data quality and governance frameworks
  • Strong client / customer service skills and ability to listen and action the voice of the customer
  • Maintain effectiveness in continually evolving or ambiguous environment
  • Ability to be a change agent, using influence, education and persuasion to build relationships and gain support for difficult changes
  • Ability to rethink existing processes and design a future state aligned with a newly envisioned operating model
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative, inclusive manner
  • Experience leveraging Operational Excellence, Lean, Design Thinking or other structured methodologies to solve complex problems
  • Advanced Excel skills including vlookups, pivot tables, if / then statements, concatenation, nested functions and formulas. Ability to create other logic formulas with ease.
  • Proficient in using IBM Information Analyzer and Structured Query Language (SQL) developer and JavaScript is a requirement
  • Excellent abilities in Power BI, Tableau, KNIME
  • Knowledge of best practices in data analysis
  • Complex problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to validate, analyze, and identify anomalies for large complex populations of data and relational databases

Compensation

This position may be filled with a mid-level ( The median level of salary compensation for this role is $88,667.0) OR this position may be filled with a Sr. Level candidate ( the median level of salary compensation for this role is $109,283.00)
