The Data Specialist will work with a variety of data sources, building and running complex macros to extract reports and information from internal and external platforms for reconciliation. This role also has responsibility for updating reconciliation results via import templates into internal platforms and working with operations to automate processes that are currently manual.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and use complex macros using Excel VBA to identify and update information on internal platform
  • Perform regular reconciliations and comparisons between internal and external data sets
  • Assist in evaluating manual processes and locating areas where semi-automation solutions via macros can be created
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure any internal records requiring research and manual updates are completed
  • Document macro builds and instructions for running macros
  • Ad hoc reporting

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Applications, or similar degree
  • 2-4 years of experience creating complex macros for data reconciliation
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, including building complex macros, VBA, V-lookups and Index/Match, CSV extractions and imports
  • Experience with Python
  • Strong Analytical and communication skills
  • Dedicated problem solver who proactively identifies issues and offers suggestions towards solutions
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience working with QuickBase

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
