DEI Strategic Partner

Location: Richmond, VA. This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The DEI Strategic Partner is responsible for building and sustaining strong relationships with senior leaders in order to develop a deep understanding of the business and how they align to DEI goals and objectives.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Partners with the DEI Director, BU Strategic Partnerships and acts as a strategic partner within the Business Units to lead the implementation of business strategies, programs and policies aimed at improving recruitment, development, succession, and retention of a diverse workforce including women, people of color, people with disabilities, veterans, and the LBGTQ+ community.
  • Earns trust across a range of levels and disciplines; Build and sustain strong relationships with senior leaders in order to develop a deep understanding of the business and how they align to DEI goals and objectives.
  • Acts as a DEI subject matter expert by contributing perspectives, insights, and translating best practices into resources and programs aligned to business/regional needs.
  • Conducts regular business reviews on status of DEI goals, advise on key programs and initiatives, and inspire leaders to drive prioritization of and commitment to DEI goals.
  • Guides discussions with various leaders to develop a common understanding of a strategic response to the organization environment.
  • Contributes to strategic insight derived from knowledge and analysis of industry and competitive analysis.
  • Drafts strategy papers and presentations used to present to key executive level stakeholders.
  • Leads and/or serves on DEI Enterprise special project teams.
Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in Organization Development, Management, HR Development or related field and a minimum of 6 years of related experience with 2 years' experience developing, leading, and executing large scale, complex and highly visible diversity or diversity related initiatives; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • Experience in a partnership type of role (i.e. HRBP) preferred.
  • DEI experience preferred.
