Compensation: $20.37 hourly

The Dental Clinical Lead provides management to the clinical staff at Compass Health Dental clinics as well as clinical support when needed.  Full-time, benefit-eligible position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC

Clinical
• Review of health history
• Dental charting
• Take dental radiographs
• Perform infection control and sterilization procedures
• Educate patients about appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
• Counsel patients about nutrition and its impact on oral health
• Assist dentist with the following aspects of dentistry: oral surgery, restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and preventive
• Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols instructed by dentist
• Perform patient vitals
• Professional communication amongst team and patients
• Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions
• Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Other duties as assigned

Clinical Lead & Management
• Orient and train Dental Assistants
• Disseminate information regarding policies and procedures to Dental Assistants and Hygienists
• Supervise and evaluate performance of staff
• Work with staff to maximize program performance and productivity
• Monitor supply of dental stock, dental supplies, and laboratory needs and order supplies when necessary
• Understand the exposure protocol and instruct assistants on the protocol in the event of an exposure incident
• Assist with front desk duties, as needed
• Training
• Clinical Oversight
• Maximize office productivity
• Support dental team

• Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids
• Regular exposure to radiation sources
• Regular exposure to biohazard and/or chemical waste materials

QUALIFICATION(S): EDUCATION

High School/GED required

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

At least two (2) years similar work experience preferred
