RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in search of a Desktop Services Engineer Lead in Newton, MA.Summary:The Desktop Services Engineer Lead provides workplace efficiency through the effective management of desktop technologies - this includes workstation, printer, wireless and software functionality support. Extensive knowledge of the Ascensus business teams as well as excellent customer care skills are primary requirements for this position. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostics, knowledge base, independent research, and/or providing hands-on assistance at the desktop level. The Desktop Services Engineer Lead must be able to provide desk side and remote support to end users spanning across all company locations including offshore resources. The candidate will be responsible for mentoring Desktop Support Seniors, Desktop Support Engineer 1's, onsite interns and the managed service team associates for process improvement opportunities. Additionally, the Engineer Lead will participate in larger IT discussions, influencing decisions, and collaborating with peers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Engineer Lead will be responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by the company to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to the company or our clients

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science preferred with 6 or more years of diversified technical support experience in a corporate environment
Proven strong knowledge in varied areas of technology, including:
  • PC Architecture
  • LAN Architecture
  • Printers, Scanners, MFDs, Fax machines and Faxing systems
  • Servers and Network Applications
  • SMS and other software deployment tools or processes
  • Network Administration
  • Windows OS environment
  • Microsoft, A+ or similar technical certification(s) preferred
  • MCSE or other advanced systems administration/networking certifications helpful
Key Technical Knowledge:
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Office, Active Directory, Scripting
  • Cisco VPN
  • Software inventory, deployment, and imaging tools
  • Remote access tools
  • Dell Wyse Thin Client
  • Citrix XenApp
  • Cisco Telepresence Subject Matter Expert
Key Professional Skills:
  • Proven ability to mentor the onsite and remote (Synoptek) team and display leadership and ownership of issues and process with business interactions.
  • Able to act independently
  • The ability to successfully handle emergency issues and communicate notification to the business when necessary.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills (e.g., evaluate complex problems and properly judge when assistance is needed)
