Job Description

The Director, Development Operations sits at the hub between fundraising, technology and finance leveraging opportunities for collaboration and best practices across the Salesforce CRM and other online fundraising platforms. The Director is responsible for ensuring optimization of these platforms, supporting operations, infrastructure, finance and reporting for the fundraising teams. The Director role oversees Gift Processing, develops and manages training and serves as a liaison with the Finance, Fundraising and IT teams.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Work with Senior Director of Development Operations to support the implementation and production use of WNET's Salesforce CRM and systems and execute the day-to-day functions required to manage the operations of these systems;
• Work closely with development staff, finance, our business analyst, and other stakeholders to provide operational directions and leadership in support of the business needs;
• Support users across all fundraising systems but primarily Salesforce CRM; Identify gaps that may result in future system enhancements, training opportunities, etc.;
• Oversee the gift processing team, including the Lockbox vendor, inhouse donation processing, matching gift program management, and reporting;
• Develop, define and document Policies and Procedures for CRM systems in collaboration with other stakeholders, while ensuring best practices;
• Manage donation related imports and exports between systems and vendors that include donation uploads from online, telemarketing, and lockbox vendors as well as data exports including acknowledgment and program guide fulfillment;
• Create and execute regular data integrity checks, data hygiene, and ensure data consistency and standardization in the CRM;
• Support the Senior Director in creating and implementing the Development Operations strategy and assist in providing complex problem resolution;
• Collaborate with Finance to facilitate reconciliation of constituent CRM revenue data with accounting systems;
• Design and deliver staff trainings on Salesforce fundamentals, data entry expectations, policies and procedures; Evaluate strategies and solutions to ensure learning needs are met;
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, effective relationship building skills and the ability to think strategically and work as part of a collaborative team. Additional qualifications include:

• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant nonprofit experience including supervisory experience;
• Database management experience in a non-profit environment; Salesforce CRM experience preferred;
• Demonstrated understanding of goals and operational needs for fundraising in a non-profit environment;
• Ability to document complex business processes and communicate technical issues to non-technical staff;
• Experience with vendor management and selection;
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple demands and deadlines with composure;
• An interest in new challenges and willingness to learn new skills.

Candidates with high level knowledge of fundraising databases, workflows, documentation, data integrity and experience in financial controls; knowledge of EveryAction or other online fundraising platforms and/or user training are preferred.
